Henry Matthews was a Birmingham silversmith; his first mark was registered in 1894. His office was located on Vittoria Street in Birmingham. A street famous for being part of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. Matthews is especially known for his small silver items that required a lot of attention to detail. Examples of these items include hairbrushes, cigarette cases, frames, hat pins, card cases and buttons. In 1930, Henry Matthews ceased production.
