Spice bowl silver – J.C.S. Kessner, Ch.F. Deppe around 1845
Wonderful baroque style handmade spice bowl as a two-piece saliere with leaf-shaped top and ear handle handle. The pleasing round stand is attached with screws. This piece is next to hallmark J.C.S. Kessner 1819-1854 bear with addition K and Ch.F. Deppe 1842-1847 “B” also hallmarked with a large V – this represents the full gilding of the object. From the condition description you can see that the gilding is completely rubbed.
