Solidly crafted in 916 silver and fully gold plated case with fine two-tone guilloche enamel and applied insect relief with 25 old cut diamonds and ruby eyes. The gemstones have been tested for authenticity. The closing mechanism works perfectly.
Aarne, Johan Viktor (1863-1934), a Finnish master craftsman whose signature can be found on enameled gold and silver objects. Mark is “VA” in Russian Cyrillic (“BA”).
This unique pillbox bears both the company stamp of the famous jeweler Peter Carl FabergĆ© (1846-1920) and the artist’s abbreviation for the Finnish master craftsman Johan Viktor Aarne (1863-1934).

Peter Carl FabergĆ© (Russian ŠŠµŃŠµŃ ŠŠ°ŃŠ» Š¤Š°Š±ŠµŃŠ¶Šµ; b. 18 Mayjul. / 30 May 1846 in Saint Petersburg to ā 24 September 1920 in Pully near Lausanne) was a Russian goldsmith and jeweler. He became famous for his extremely ornate and masterfully crafted jewelry and decorative objects, especially the world-famous FabergĆ© eggs.
Johan Viktor Aarne (1863-1934) worked at FabergĆ© from 1880 – 1904, after which J.V. Aarne went back to his home country and worked as an independent jeweler.
