Neo-Rococo ceremonial bowl – Gustav Möllenborg, Sweden
Magnificent entirely in the style of the 2nd Rococo richly decorated and ornamented silver bowl with surrounding rocaille decorations. The inner surfaces and the inner bottom are decorated with floral chasing. The four volute feet are shown as fine openwork. This silver work comes from the silver manufactory Gustav Möllenborg (1796 – 1851). In his time Möllenborg was the best and most productive silversmiths in Sweden. Möllenborg is represented in the National Museum and the Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm.
