A quite wonderful hand chased high alloy silver bowl in square basic shape. The inner area is mirror polished, the wide rim in playful wavy shape delights with its overloaded relief decoration. Very detailed worked out decorations of shell work, tendrils, rocailles and flowers make this great rococo bowl the eye-catcher of the festive table.

Neo-Rococo, or also known as Louis-Philippe, refers to a style of historicism in Europe. Its roots lie in the 1830s in France, where the Rococo also began around 1710 in the era of the RĆ©gence. The Neo-Rococo style reached its peak between 1830 and 1860, before the style – like most Neo-Styles – gradually faded away towards the end of the century.
Neo-Rococo is not so much devoted to architecture as to furniture, arts and crafts, and decorative interiors. Here, the repertoire of forms and ornamentation of the Rococo period, for example, the extremely popular shell work, was used.
