Excellent lidded box as a pastry box from the period of the third rococo around 1900. Stylistically, it also combines the Art Nouveau style, which had its heyday around 1900/1910. This magnificently decorated and overloaded lidded box belongs to this period. The bottom has engraved lettering, which has been scratched. This flaw was fixed by restoration, additionally verdigris was removed in the area of the inner gilding.

Until the revolution in 1918, the Hanau factories supplied many European royal houses with jewelry and tableware. Important names are for example Weinranck, Schleißner, Neresheimer, Schwahn, Zwernemann and many more.
