Oval handmade silver bowl, surely from a Hanau silver manufactory. The bowl has wonderfully detailed rim and bottom decorations with rocailles and floral vines. In the bottom of the bowl there is also a carved out figural scene of a lingering couple with a young hunting dog under a tree.

The heyday of Hanau goldsmithing and silversmithing was in the historicism, that is, 19th century. Until the revolution in 1918, the Hanau factories supplied many European royal houses with jewelry and tableware. Important names are for example Weinranck, SchleiĆner, Neresheimer, Schwahn, Zwernemann and many more.
